The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) presented its annual seminar on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham. Welcoming special lunch speaker Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Marilyn Kelly (center) were (left to right) AAML Michigan Chapter President Michael Robbins of the Law Office of Michael A. Robbins and former National Board of Governor of the AAML and the Academy’s 2006 National Fellow of the Year, Richard S. Victor, of the Law Offices of Victor and Victor PLLC.

   

On Friday, Sept 19, the International Kids Alliance Network (IKAN) along with attorney Richard S. Victor of Victor and Victor P.L.L.C. and the Victor Smile Foundation hosted the second in a series of nationwide children’s book charity events at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills to launch the book “You and Me Make Three,” which is based on the national parent education SMILE program, started in Oakland Country in 1989.  During the event, the book’s publisher, Edna Cucksy (center) of Edco Publishing Co., presented the 2008 Hermes Creative Award to (left to right) illustrator Heather Drescher and co-authors Richard S. Victor, Wendy Lokken, and Gwendy Mangiamele.  The book deals with the challenges of divorce and separation.  Proceeds from the launch event will benefit Oakland Schools, the Oakland Schools Education Foundation, and CARE House.

 

   

Matrimonial law has become a family affair for the father-and-son legal team of Richard and Daniel Victor.  The duo, pictured in their Long Lake Road office, is backed by legal assistant Kathleen Germaine, a member of the firm for the past 18 years.

OAKLAND COUNTY’S SMILE PROGRAM (Start Making It Livable for Everyone) recently celebrated its 17th anniversary on Thursday, March 1. SMILE co-founders reunited for the anniversary presentation of the program in the Board of Commissioners Auditorium at the Oakland County Courthouse. Bloomfield Hills family law attorney Richard S. Victor (left) and Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Edward Sosnick (right) presented the evening session with Dr. Nancy Fishman, a Birmingham psychologist who helped author the original SMILE program.

Oakland County’s SMILE Program conducted is monthly meeting on Monday, June 7, at the Oakland County Commissioners Auditorium. Attorney Richard S. Victor awarded "Respect For Law Day Award" from Bloomfield Hills Optimist Club. Pictured, left to right: Mr. Victor's son Daniel, a senior associate in his Law firm, Mr. Victor, and Mr. Victor's wife Denise. The award was given on May 12, 2005, and Mr. Victor was honored to be the first attorney ever to be the recipient of this award from the Optimist Club.

 

The American Academy Of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) conducted its Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 9 at Tam O'Shanter Country Club in West Bloomfield.  Four of the five living Lifetime Achievement Award recipients from the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Section were at the meeting including (left to right) Edward D. Gold of Butzel Long P.C. in Bloomfield Hills (2001); Hanley M. Gurwin of Dickinson Wright P.L.L.C. in Bloomfield Hills (1991); West Bloomfield attorney Norman N. Robbins (1988); and Richard  S. Victor P.L.L.C. in Bloomfield Hills (1999).

 

 

Attorney Daniel Victor speaks to the Pennsyvlania Bar Association on the issue of children's rights in the United States.  In November, 2005, Daniel spoke to the Pennsylvania Bar Association on the issues of children's rights and grandparent visitation.  Daniel was the keynote speaker, as well as a featured panel speaker at the convention.
